OMC exhaust bellowThermostats regulate the cooling system of an engine, esuring proper operating temperatures. This is often the first place to check when the motor is running hot, and if there has been a major overheating event the thermostat should be changed out. Replacing a MerCruiser thermostat is usually a straight forward job of removing the cover, themerostat and gaskets. Sometimes corrosion inside the themrostat housing creates a bigger job where the whole housing has to be replaced.
