MerCruiser Engines & Drives Resource Guide

NOTE: The engine and sterndrive unit will each have their own separate serial number.

Engine Serial Number: The serial number tag is located near the starter, by the flywheel housing, on the rocker arm cover or flame arrestor cover.
Transom Plates: The serial number tag is located on the inner transom plate inside the boat, or on the upper swivel pin.
Sterndrive Serial Number: The serial number tag is located on the upper drive shaft housing.
