Recoil Springs

Lower horsepower rope start engines have a wound flat spring inside the starting mechanism that rewinds the starter rope after each pull. Worn out or broken springs can leave you unable to start the motor. It can be a little bit tricky to install one of these springs, so you might want to consult a service manual for the proper procedure.
