Measuring for Outboard Cables

Part numbers on existing cable:
Check the outer jacket of your existing control cable. There may be a part number that can be used in the search box above to find an exact replacement. The last two digits of the number sometimes indicates the length in feet, or on older cables the last three digits can show the length in inches.

With cable removed from the boat:
Measure from tip to tip and round up to the next foot.

With no existing cable, or cable still installed:
Measure the cable routing path from the control head to the center of the engine, add four feet to allow a cable loop at the engine and round up the the next foot.
