3.0 Liter – V6 – 2-Stroke Standard or Fleet Master Gearcase with 13 spline drive shaft and 15 spline prop shaft
NOTE: You must confirm that your original gearcase has a 15 spline PROP Shaft.
SE228 does not replace some of the optional gearcases that were available including Torque Master, Torque Master 2 and the Sport Master. These units all have the “Fat Shaft” prop shaft with 19 splines.
The SE228 units are “Verado Style” gearcases. The SE228 is considered
the Standard gearcase and may also be referred to as Fleet Master.
Around 2006, these engines changed from using SE218 units to SE228
units. This changed occurred at serial number 1B504989.
