    1987 Evinrude 25 ?

Thanks for your reply. Online, I found a list of symptoms (rough idle, bogging on acceleration, but it wasn't doing this after I adjusted the linkage), plus a step-by-step, engine-off inspection I can do on-shore to see if the throttle-position is opening and timing is advancing through the...

    1987 Evinrude 25 ?

Bought this engine last year and it would only drive my pontoon to 5 mph because the throttle barely moved the carb linkage. I adjusted the linkage and now it goes to WOT, but I've been told that screwed up the timing. Is that likely? Many thanks for yr help. PW

    87 Evinrude Ignition Switch Problem

Evinrude 25, Model E25ELCUA, Serial EO674874 OEM P/N 508180 BRP Ignition Switch with push-to-choke. Started it up 10 days ago. Ran fine but the old ignition switch was sticking in the start position. Got the OEM replacement. Took some pictures to make sure I installed it right (even read the...

95 Merc 350 Mag Ski EFI TBI: Remove Idle Screw Cap

That cap was thick, but I eventually got thru it. Saw a youtube video that goes thru procedure to calibrate the IAC valve that includes adjusting the screw. At the end of last season, the idle dropped just a little and the boat would stall when shifting into neutral of reverse. It's all good now...

95 Merc 350 Mag Ski EFI TBI: Remove Idle Screw Cap

I need to access the screw to reset the Idle Air Control valve and adjust the idle speed to spec. According to the YT videos I've seen, the cap has to be drilled out. The geniuses at GM made the cap convex, so I can't get a bit to grab onto it. Any clue on what to do? Many thanks for your help, PW

'95 Mercruiser 350 Mag Ski EFI (TBI) Idle Air Control

Engine Ser. #0F562552 Part #805224A1 I'm trying to replace this part. The electrical connect and mounting screws came out EZ, but the part feels like it's welded to the throttle body. Won't move at all. Pics are the one still in the throttle body and the replacement part. Any tips on how to...

Replacing 1984 Harris FloteBote Pontoon Transom

My boat hauler solved this problem, as he has done many times for me over the past 15 years. We used the old transom board as a pattern and cut the basic shape. Before mounting the board in the transom bracket, we stuck a bolt thru the empty bracket to see the path it followed: angled slightly...

Replacing 1984 Harris FloteBote Pontoon Transom

The transom bracket tilts outward from the stern, so the bolts tilt upward from the outside to the inside of the motor box. The inside width of the transom bracket is 1.5 inches. How do I hold the drill angle through the outside bolt hole so it comes thru the inside bolt hole? Tips and tricks...

    Busted Stud

1984 Evinrude E30ECRR (30 hp) Ser: F036841 I had to remove the starter to pull/clean the carb, and when I reinstalled the starter, I over-tightened one of the nuts on the starter bracket and snapped the mounting stud. I got the OEM part from a local shop, and after doing a lousy job drilling out...

    Mercruiser Alternator Output

1995 Mercruiser 350 Magnum EFI (TBI) Tournament Ski Ser. #)F562552 The output from the terminal on the back of the unit is 15V @ 2,000 rpm. The voltage at the battery terminal is 14.75. Is this within spec? Many thanks for answering my question,

    1984 Evinrude 30 OK?

Evinrude E30ECRR, Ser. F036841 Just rebuilt the water pump for the second time in the last 2 weeks because of previous errors on my part. It's been 5 years since the last rebuild, so I'm not sure what the lower unit should look like on the muffs. These photos are with the engine off and the city...
