    318 water pump

    Hi , I have a closed loop cooled 318. The water pump (coolant ) not the raw water one is leaking coolant. My mechanic says the pump is universal ie a non marine one will fit as long as it is bi directional? My engine is a counter rotater. The difference is about $ 300 dollars for a marine one...

    Heres a pic from the top of the motor. The manifolds and risers are raw water cooled from the bottom of the heat exchanger from separate outlets. The riser's hose goes through the gearbox cooler first. If that makes sense. Tony
