    1972 BF75 water pump

Sorry if this post appears multiple times. I'm having some difficulty. This motor has been sitting vertically and covered for 4 years. I'm in the process of getting it running. I want to replace the water pump and can't find specific directions. Is it as simple as disconnecting the shift rod...

This has been sitting vertically and covered for 4 years. I'm in the process of getting it running. I want to replace the water pump and can't find specific directions. Is it as simple as disconnecting the shift rod and removing the lower unit, then replacing the pump? Any advice will be greatly...

    Heat sensor needed!

I'm not sure which one is bad. It overheated and the HOT light stays on now. Which one is most likely the problem? How can I test them? Thanks for your help.

    Heat sensor needed!

I'm not sure what page you refer to for part numbers. And no I didn't test it. It overheated a few weeks ago and went into slow mode. I replaced the impeller and thermostats. Now the HOT light comes on immediately when I turn the key. It starts, pees, and runs fine but stays in slow mode.

    Heat sensor needed!

2004 Johnson 115 HP 2 stroke Bombardier J115PLSRC. I need a heat sensor. I can't find the right part number. If they're no longer available can I disconnect/bypass it? Is there a substitute? Can I add one with a gauge directly to the block? What would a local repair shop do? Please help, thanks.

    Sputters and shakes

I flushed it out every way possible with water, compressed air, and a vacuum. I finally got it to pee. I read that debris in the cooling system can cause the temperature sensor to fail. Does this make sense?

    Sputters and shakes

2004 Johnson 115 HP 2 stroke Bombardier J115plsrc. Got stuck in the mud and sucked up lots of sand. It overheated. I flushed out all the sand and replaced the water pump. The HOT light stays on now, even when it first starts up. It starts and runs fine until 2500 rpms then shakes and sputters...

    No forward gear

I used the 2004 Johnson Service Manual for 2 cycle motors 90, 105, 115, 150 and 175 HP. Great advice to double check the neutral shift position. I used the 2004 Johnson Service Manual for 2 cycle motors 90, 105, 115, 150 and 175 HP. The suggested height in neutral is 21 3/4".

    No forward gear

Model #J115PLSRC. It shifted perfectly. During the work the shift rod height did get moved.

    No forward gear

Thanks for the advice however the shift linkage would not go that low. I got the 21 3/4“ height from the shop manual, and the gear was to be in neutral for the measurement. What an I doing wrong? If it will not shift all the way into forward, should the shift rod be lowered or raised?

    No forward gear

    Thanks. I'll lower to 21 & 1/4".

    No forward gear

I set the shift rod at 21.75 inches.

    No forward gear

2004 Johnson, 115hp 2 cycle. I replaced the impeller and now reverse and neutral work fine but when shifting into forward the gears chatter but don't grab. I did set the height but it must still be off a bit. Should the shift rod be raised or lowered, and if so by how much? And is there any way...

2004 Johnson 115 2 cycle, shifting and peeing problems.

Just finished impeller replacement. Forward and neutral are fine but it's hard to get it into reverse. Also it will not pee. How long should I wait, and should I increase the rpms? Suggestions please, thanks.
