I am getting little droplets of either fuel or oil on startup of my starboard motor. It lasts for maybe 15-20 minutes. Both drive oil reservoirs seem to be at the same level. Merc 5.0mpi. Any ideas on further testing?
I have one bilge blower on each side of my engine room. Twin 5.0mpis in a 02 Searay 280 sundancer. Is one blower supposed to be sucking out fumes and one sucking in fresh air? To make a draft correct?
Now what. I noticed the front freeze plug by the pulleys on my merc 5.0mpi was popped out a little upon first start after winterizing. Popped it back in and started it while on muffs in the driveway. No other leaks and oil not getting milky so now what.
Had to repair the drive shaft seal because of a leak. Set rolling torque, torqued the retainer with the special spanner tool. There is some in/out movement now when i pull/push the drive shaft in and out. Did i not torque the big retainer enough?
I used that 5 gallon jug kit from amazon for my 5.0mpi's. Am worried sick because of reading all the horror stories. I ran 5 gallons of -75° through them only after brought up to temp and didn't drain anything out afterwards. So i ending up making a trip out to the cold indoor storage place...
Don't understand how these tachs of mine don't ever work. My newest 2yr old tach just stopped working. Anyone know of a better alternative? Digital maybe?
