What am I not understanding about Honda Marine parts diagrams?

I've always been able to find part numbers for my BF225 AK1 with relative ease, until now. When I look in the official Honda Marine part diagrams for parts within the in the VST assembly, for instance, all I DO see is the dotted line surrounding the whole VST assembly and the bolded "E-18" designator for it. There's no reference in the accompanying parts list for this "E-18", or many of the other assemblies that I've noticed, like the F-8-20 designator in the same diagram, as another example. What am I not understanding? I've spent hours trying to find part numbers for components within these bold-designated assemblies and found no related entry in the parts list. It'll likely be obvious once someone explains, but I'm embarrassed to say that for the moment I'm lost. Thanks in advance for any kind replies.

There is a separate parts page for the VST. If I recall correctly is is labeled something like "Vapor Separator Assembly"

Yeah, this is a particular pain with the Honda parts look up. The designation E18 or F20 refers to, fo "you can find this on a different page" with E18 or F20 being the page number located in very small print in the lower right of each page.

It's confusing because E18 can ACTUALLY look like E 1800 on the page and sadly, sometimes those numbers aren't even printed on the page!

I'll use the 225 pages to provide you with an example;

The page on the link below is "E18"
Look at the bottom right of the page and you see ZY2AE 1800E

At the top of that page is a "note" about a different but related page....
E 1...near the vst housing cover.
It indicates that you can find parts related to the cover on page E 1

Here's E 1..."Cylinder head cover...

On this page are two bold type "notes" directing you back to page
E 18 as well as E 1810

I could explain further but my head hurts and it took me 30 minutes to put this example together using the boats.net website.

I can go a bit more into it if you want vut that's the basics of looking up Honda parts.

One last tip....the pages USUALLY have a note with an arrow saying FRONT. That can be helpful when you're totally lost.

Let me know if you want more torture on this subject. :>)

Thanks hawk_man and jgmo! This has ended as I suspected it would. The answer would be as obvious as I feared and I would wonder why I couldn't see it before. Isn't that the way it goes? Cheers!
