Need to find the correct tool to remove the gear housing cover on a pre alfha lower unit, is there a way to remove it without the proper tool?

"gear housing cover"" ????? please explain cause there is no mention of a cover in the lower unit

According to the service manual, it is referred to as the gear housing cover. It’s the threaded notched ring that is installed at the end of the gear housing. I don’t know why it’s called a cover?

You can drill it & let it "collapse on itself" to remove but will need the tool to install & torque.
