Got my mechanic coming over in morning to see if he can help, changed all other plugs no issues what so ever. I thing might have to do with backflow exhaust issues that these motors have had causing plugs to rust and bind?? any help to resolve getting them out would be greatful frustratining"

"Aristakat - how did you and your mechanic resolve the issue. I think others, including me, would like to know.

Although Honda recommends changing plugs every 400 hours, my dealer recommends pulling them every 200 hours, or annually (whichever comes first) to inspect and coat threads with anti-seize grease."

"first day

okay got 2 out of 3 out so far, my concern is on second one saw quite alot of alum threads in plug thread. The mechanic was hestent to mess with it because said the threads more then likely will have to pull head and put heli coils to have new threads. First plug reseated and worked in and out untill seated properly, mechanic coming down to look with scope to make sure no shavings in cyclinder, also bring Tap to help with threads. I really am trying to avoid pulling all three heads if I don't have to, used a leverage pipe to get plugs out along with pb blaster and worked plug in and out a little at a time.

second day

okay had one plug that was worse then other two, retapped the trhead on this one checked all three with a cool scope that allowed us to see down in the thread and cyclinder as well. . applied never seize on all threads and on rough plugs slowly reseated plugs.

what helped was:
1. pb blaster made a major difference
2.used a old hollow long brush handle for leverage bar and worked back and forth made a major difference as well.
3. only one plug was a major concern and retapped and cleaned to make sure no shavings in head plus used scope to make sure.
4. Ran motors on hose to make sure motors sounded good and both ran great so far will see more when on water and have strain on motors.

I feel good about threads properly reseated,

hope all learn from my mistake ALWAYS USE never seize on threads and check yearly even just to re grease threads . PB Blaster rocks for stuck parts never heard of till last night

have had boat out twice no issues with plugs one happy educated boater

Outstanding! Yep - pb Blaster

Outstanding! Yep - pb Blaster is great stuff. We use it around here alot because of salt water environment.

"It's a product. Go to most any auto parts store, NAPA, Auto Zone or who ever is around you and most likely you will find it. It works wonders to remove rusted or corroded parts."

PB Blaster!!! Keep a can in the garage and one in the boat! Aero Kroil is even better but almost impossible to find.

reminder everyone to pull out those plugs and coat with marine never sieze just did mine again today I do every 6 months now can save you alot of grief in the long run

Amen to that. I just posted on another thread about this issue. The plugs should be pulled every 200 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first, and replaced or re-inserted with the threads coated with marine anti-seize grease. In a pinch, regular marine grease works just as well according to the tech's at my dealer.

OKAY GUYS just reminding all once again about sparkplugs , just pulled mine again its been 6 months 100 hrs ago & they came out smooth super easy took me a hour or so to pull and recoat them with marine neverseize 2 engines
