Hi,
Do you have a fuse panel? If so, start there. But they sometimes can put fuses in the dumbest places....like in the harness....and that makes it tough if you don't have the wiring diagram for the remote.
DON'T "skim" over fuses. A bad fuse can look ok but still be bad. Check them thoroughly by pulling them out of the holder and checking them with an ohmmeter. It just takes a small amount of corrosion to kill the power to that panel.
Even if you find a blown fuse, you need to keep in mind that those remote wiring looms are often run next to screws and sharp metal and, if the fuse keeps blowing, you'll need to find the bad spot in the harness. It can be a TOTAL pain!
Wish I had better advice to offer but that's all I have.
I'll be watching for your "FOUND IT" update so, cheering you on!
Good luck.
