Looking for a coupler for a 460 OMC cobra. The years that will work are from 89 to 93. Part number: (old) 984537 and (new) 986232.

How's it feel to finally be wrong? Lol Just kidding!! These have been in production by Sierra for sometime now, yea!!! It's about time they take care of us.
Aloha friends...
While we love the 460 (cuz you can get 600-odd horses out of it pretty easy) parts for it are getting hard to find. My advice is to get something like a universal fit type coupler, such as this.
Then you'd have to have a machine shop drill and tap the six bolt holes in your 460 flywheel (so that it is perfectly centered). Don't throw away any 460 marine anything yet!
I'm not sure, but I think that maybe an automatic transmission flex plate from a 460 truck will take the above coupler without needing to drill. Should just bolt up. Be sure the ring gear tooth count is the same.
