Honda 225 electrical questions

1. With only battery connected to the engine, should the trim tilt switch work? Mine does not. Although the trim tilt works when jumped to the connector.

2. New engine to me and previous owner cut main harness wires. Can I splice them together or should I get a new harness?

Many questions to come. Thanks for any info.

The trim switch on the engine should work with battery connected and boat harness disconnected.

And to answer your other question, yes, get a new harness. Sort of like an insurance policy and will save future headaches.

FYI, boats . net does not have any wire harnesses last I checked.
