We'll Friday heading back in and starboard motor started backing down !!! Limped in on port motor pulled gear case bolt lots of metal shavings :( ! I started calling around seemed like no one local did rebuild on Honda's ? But some dealers would order me a new one for 3400.00 ouch.... We'll a year or so back I came across website who rebuild Honda's BAM called them they are building one for me now free shipping to my house anyone ever use them ? I will update once I get my rebuild here end of week.......

I think prop caught a rope from a stone crab trap and messed up gears.... Crazy part is they all get pulled out in a week last casauilty was a transducer last year by traps..
 
P3040013.jpgP3030011.jpgWe'll going out last Friday heard a noise coming from starboard gear case, I think I caught a stone crab rope and jammed my prop enough to mess with gears because I was in open water and nothing around but traps... I started calling around seemed like no one rebuild honda gearcases only choice was to order a new one for $$$3400.00. I came across a website a year or so back and saved it in my favorites. http://www.atlanticgearcase.com/
They seemed to specialize in Honda's and had prices right on website so I called them Friday afternoon around 450pm informed me that they could have a rebuild one shipped free to my door by next Friday for $1600.00 I said done deal.... They got it shipped a day early arrived Thursday afternoon now all that is left is to water test it... Came with oil,water pump,and zinc's just had to unpack,bolt on, and repack old core to send back free..
 
Yeah, that might even beat dealer wholesale for a new one from Honda and be just as good! Hope she "turns n burns" fer ya.
