Hi folks,

Well i`m almost ready to get my completely restored boat back in the water but i`m now about to setup all the electrical side of things.

I`ve had a search around on the net but can`t find what the recommended starter battery i should use for my BF50. Any info in regards to ampage ect would be very helpful as after all the time i`ve spent working on the boat then i don`t want to have any problems with the electrics.

Cheers, Matt.

Cheers Mike i had a feeling you`d know.

I`m just having a bit of brain fade  I`ve got full workshop manuals for a wide range of honda outboards which is just as well as i own 8 of them in different sizes.

I won`t be skimping on the battery side of things as i`ll be fitting at the very least a twin 95amp setup with a split charge system.

Matt.

Over many years I've had good luck with the Interstate sealed batteries. Have made it a habit to change them out every five years regardless of how well they seem to be operating.

Interstate is one of the best battery "suppliers" in the world. I used them exclusively when in the trucking business and attended their electrical troubleshooting seminars several times along with my technical students that I was in charge of training for fleet vehicle maintenance. Great bunch of folks and they are SERIOUS about their business.

The Interstate batteries are typically a few dollars more than other brands but the "build specs" are far superior and you really do get what you pay for in this case.

Great advice from the chawk_man.
