just had my carby's stripped and cleaned...new set of coils put on...the mechanic tuned the carby's and mixture screws....ran the motor and she's all good to go
put her in the water finally and could not start the motor...was just about to put the boat back on the trailer when I finally got a fart out of her and it ran like a dog and worse than before the work was done.
left the mechanic a dirty NOT happy message to contact me
I normally do my own services but I will not pull apart carbs pistons ect as I dont know enough about them and then get a mechanic
i have had to since reset mixyure screws and carbs to get the motor to run reasonably but not perfect and it has left me thinking I may be running the wrong fuel with a too high octane...at present using 98 premium
my question is...according to the user manual it is ok to use E10 fuel (10% ethanol) or just normal unleaded at 91-95 octane but anything above 86% octane
for a 97 model motor which fuel should I be using....
cheers for your input
