BF250 alarms

Hi, I was hoping to find some guidance to resolve some alarms with my '17 250a outboard. After about 5 or so minutes after starting the alarm starts beeping and the engine led lights up on the ignition key panel. The hd-4 display shows "eng warning level 2" and "eng check". I recently purchased this used outboard and I am barely getting familiar with it. I could not find information or troubleshooting options in the manual. I appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance

I found instructions online on how to pull the codes with a jumper wire. There is only a single quick flash, followed by approx 2 seconds off and it continues like that with no apparent pattern difference. I am looking for a description for such code pattern with no luck yet

Hi escartiz,
I don't work on these and don't have the service info for your outboard. I do have a copy of the code list that chawk_man posted here for the 225 hp and see that there is a "1".blink code. It lists O2 sensor and it's wiring or connections as being the cause. Does your outboard have an O2 sensor? I know that Honda stopped using O2 sensors on some models for fuel control but I have no way of knowing which ones have them and which ones don't.

At the bottom of the "1 blink" code description it also lists "faulty spark plug". Sometimes the simplest things are the things to check first so that might be a way to go.

Hopefully someone else here can provide you with better info.

Good luck.

I ordered new o2 sensor and spark plugs. Hopefully, that solves it, I will report back if not. Thank you for the help I appreciate it :)
