2007 BF50A 91 Octane

Why?

In a normal environment all Hondas run fine on 87. If you can get non-ethanol, that's better for your engine. In all cases use a stabilizer unless you are running through the fuel quickly.

Thanks for the quick reply......I ALWAYS use a fuel stabilizer in any gas engine I own...It's starting to get cold here in the
mid-west, and I plan on one more trip to the lake before putting the boat way....so, I've "topped" the tank off in anticipation,
added stabilizer.....and already looking forward to next season.....thanks again

There's no problem with using the higher octane gasoline...at least for your engine.

Benzene is used to modify the octane of "consumer" grade gasoline so you will be needlessly increasing THAT emission by doing so since your outboard doesn't necessarily need it.

That is UNLESS you intend to operate in EXTREME hot weather conditions. In which case, the increased octane could help reduce the risk of detonation.
