2004 BF225 Higher RPM

Hello,
New here but looking for help with my BF225, It is on a 22' pro-line WAC. In the past the boat has always topped out at about 40mph @5500-5700 rpm. Only had it out twice this season, but now it is only hitting 32 mph @6000-6200 rpm. I know something isn't normal, but not sure what. I usually only run about 25-28 mph but noticed the higher rpm just doing that. Checked prop and moved only about 1/4" on the hub but ordered a new one and replacing tonight. Only issue is that I did not see anything wrong with the old one, so looking for any other ideas or suggestions.

Sounds like a spun prop. It is difficult to detect a spun prop visually. Let us know if the new prop doesn't solve the problem.

1/4" movement says spun hub to me too. Hopefully you're new purchase straightens out the situation.

Good luck.

Sorry for the late reply, weather and work schedule got in the way. Finally tried the boat this morning and still had the same issue. I was at 6100 rpm and 21 mph, but the motor just didn't sound like it was running @ 6100 rpm. Smacked the tach with my knuckles hard one time and the damn thing dropped right down to 3900 rpm. Never messed up again the rest of the ride. Unbelievable
