Hey guys, I’m having a problem with my outboard replaced all the ignition parts motor starts really easy and runs great on a water hose put it in the water put it in gear. Hit the throttle and it dies suggestions.

They all bark and roar on a hose and it means very little.--It might be running on 3 cylinders.-----Checked the shift interrupt switch on the motor ?----A compression test is the first step in trouble shooting.----Post the actual values here.-----And why were all the ignition parts replaced?

I’m going to check that switch but all the compression is 120 in all the cylinders. I’ll update you when I check the switch. Thanks for the input. The ignition parts was replaced because the timer base was bad and everyone I talk to said everything else will follow so it’s best to replace it. All in the motor has been sitting for about five years. All the carburetors has been cleaned fuel lines replaced new fuel filters, new prime bulb, you can actually start the motor and spray gas into the carburetors in the top four doesn’t change anything but the bottom two will flood out

You can also pull the top four plug wires and it starts and runs the same with the plug wires off

Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on all leads ?-----Sounds like there is no spark on top 4 cylinders.----Who decided to replace these ignition parts ?----New or used parts ?----Wires hooked up correctly from power pack to the coils ?

2,4,&6 will jump a 3/8 gap but 1,3,&5 won’t but they show for on a timing light other than 3 but if you unplug 3 and 6 it kills the motor but the rest doesn’t all new parts are from cdi I u hooked the neutral switch, and it didn’t change nothing
