    Thanks for reply, I got it on muffs now (ran for 10 minutes) and can't see anything wrong. It is running great, in gear and out. the idle problem happened instantly while in water on 3 day trip. I will be checking unit oil, The gear slap I think was from the engine being off for 3 cylinders...

    Idle problem 115 2+2

    Started having idle problems. so bad the gears were slapping noisy. It ran great above 1200 rpm. I sure am suspecting an idle port blockage on 1 of the 2 carbs that have those ports. Is there anything else I should consider? what 2 carbs have those idle ports, and how should I clean them?

    I put her together. Short part of linkage on the shift shaft arm. From the prop side view.. it looks like a backwards #7. Seens to be working.

    New lower coming from SEI. My merc had the 3 jaw reverse. SEI said I had to upgrade shift shaft, it means I must pull powerhead. Merc is not corroded at all. I have a lift tool. Any thoughts on anything I should do while powerhead is up?

    Buy a new housing 115HP 4 cyl 1993

    After buying 7 shift cams ,,4 cam followers, 1 shift shaft, 1 prop shaft. And only running 20 seconds in reverse, and locking in rev. i am going to get a new housing. My motor is 0d067126. Black. I see housings from $300 to $1300 on marine engine.com. Why so many choices and price ranges?

    I pulled prop shaft. There are 3 dimples on reverse area of cam. I am thinking I shifted harder of softer.. But I am thinking the pin is rotating with the prop shaft. There was no damage without motor running. With running.. 4 shifts and lockup. This has now cost me a fishing trip this weekend...

    New pin and cam. Ground .030 off top of cam. Used a red dye in cam groove. assembled and shifted with pliers 20 times. Looks like perfect alignment with no breakage. Was not on engine.

    I ordered shift pins and all gaskets, orings and seals, plus water pump from marine engine.com. Do I need to remove pinion gear and pull drive shaft to replace seals? Same with shift shaft. Can the shafts stay in place and replace seals??
