    Fuel and Gas-oil ratio 1982 Mercury 70hp Triple

    I have a very fine running this 82 Merc 70 triple. What octane gas do you recommend, and should I run ethanol free and avoid the gasohol? Also, the good book says the motor is designed to run on 50:1. Anyone running 25:1 or other ratios on these older motors? Thanks....Bill

    1982 Mercury 70hp Triple Carb Jet Help

    Hello, I'm running a 1982 Merc 70 outboard L3. 145 psi on all 3 cylinders. Some guys open up the jet a little on the top carb to rich out the fuel air to reduce top cylinder failure. What has helped you guys out there? 1/8 turn out? 1/4 turn out? Appreciate your suggestions...

    1982 Merc 70hp Trim Tilt - Motor held down in in FWD by Trim Tilt

    On my 1982 Merc 70 outboard, the trim and tilt works wonderfully. However, when I hit a sandbar, the trim and tilt hods the motor down, it will not tip up to prevent or minimize damage when hitting something. Shouldn't the motor tilt up easily when running in case I hit something? I there a...
