I am running the 70hp Merc triple and need some prop help. My 70 has 142-145 psi on all cylinders, it is a really strong running motor. It was on a pontoon boat with an 11.1 x 13p prop. I'm running it on a 16.5' Crestliner aluminum boat that weighs about 650#. I am looking at a 17p to 19p prop, but the recommended prop for that motor is 10" diameter. Isn't that a bit small for this motor? Can anyone make a suggestion or share your experience for a prop size on this motor?
