2005 Mercruiser alpha 1 drive. Is it normal to hear a mild clanking (sounds like metal to metal) when shifting gears. This occurs when shifting from Neutral to forward as well as neutral to reverse.
My service manual (no. 14) says to adjust the ram extension to 20-3/4" whereas I keep seeing references where people are indicating it is 21-3/4". Can anyone clarify this for me? I have not been able to find anything published that says it is supposed to be 21-3/4" as opposed to the 20-3/4"...
