    25 hp Washer fell out ?

    I have a 25hp 1999 tiller drive. I dropped the lower unit to replace the impeller. A small flat washer fell out. Does it go on the shift rod at the top? That seems to make sense.

    lower unit swap

    I have a 1979 175 v6 with the pin at the top of the drive shaft. Do I need to find that type used, or can it be interchanged with one that has no pin in later years? What is the measure points o shaft length? I have a standard long shaft. Is that 25 inches.

    reverse gear replacement

    I am pretty sure my reverse gear is trashed, ratcheting and only grabbing hit and miss. Does anyone know if the clutch and gear can be replaced without a complete rebuild. Any ideas how much this should cost? The motor is old and I don't want to over spend.
