I'm working on a old XR2 and someone cut all the bleed lines off. Does anyone have a drawing showing where they need to be placed? Thanks in advance.

Thanks.....I tried that but it keep telling me serial number not found. The number on the engine is A157485 model 1150765.

Yes, you have one of those "mystery" serial numbers. Up until 1985 Merc used "all digit" serial (production) numbers.

For the 1986 model year they switched to the (current) alpha-numeric numbers and released a whole new line of "new" motors.

Anyhow, during the later half of 1985 a whack of motors ended up with the "new format" serial which didn't follow the rules for the actual 1986 models.

I suspect your have one of those mid/late 1985 models with the new number format which doesn't show up as a "valid" serial/production number.

You are going to have to look for a Seloc's or factory manual for pre-85 models to find what you are after. The online parts diagrams do not include the routing for the bleed lines.

Sorry, my manuals for the bigger motors only go back to the 86 models, so I personally can't help you with this one.

Here ya go....

If your manuals back to 1986 it will have the 2 liter bleed reference picture in it as all the early 150 some 175 & 200 had the 5 line system.

Thanks!!! that's how I thought they were routed but wasn't sure. I somehow misplaced my old V6 manual that had all this stuff in it and have searched the whole place over with no luck. Thanks for your help.
