Would you use this piston ring?

Ordered 3 rings for a new piston for a 74 50hp Merc. They were all purported as new and they look it...except that one looks like this (pic). Is there any real danger using the one I pictured below on a piston with the two others on that piston without this flaw? Thanks!

Myself I would not use others will differ . The ring gap will be excessive allowing blowby past locating pin and build up of carbon in ring groove. I have seen posts where it was told you can use just 2 rings on 3 ring piston but that not correct as a 2 ring piston has wider ring to support piston(dome is smaller than shirt) Its ok if your going to race it and turn mega rpms as your going to tear it back down after several runs.

That's essentially what I was thinking about the blow-by. Sort of intuitive if one just thinks about it. But I was thinking that the other 2 rings might compensate for the little gap. Obviously I was mistaken about that. Thanks for the heads-up.

I wouldn't use it- besides the blow-by factor already mentioned by FB, the chances of the ring breaking elsewhere and causing you a BIG headache may be increased.
