wmb-4 carburetor question

Hello, as the titles states I have a WMB-4 carburetor off of a 7.5hp outboard. I was taking apart the carb to clean it and I think I heard something drop. I picked up a pin about 5/16" long. I have no idea where this might go or if it even is a part of my carburetor. I didn't see any obvious spot for it to go. I will attach a picture of it.

I looked through the parts breakdown of this carb but I couldn't really find anything that matches.

It fits pretty nicely in that hole. Could it just be a plug for the body? the channel goes towards the fuel pump but I removed the pump cover and the hole doesn't connect. Am I missing something or could this be its home?

Look like part of the float hinge pin

Not part of the carburetor, I'm going with the dowel pin that aligns the crankcase and cylinder block, I can't remember if that pin is tapered like OMC pins or not.
