Will Force lower unit fit on my Mariner?

I have a 45 h.p. Mariner (1987) and my lower unit went out..... and my buddy has a Force lower unit off a 40 h.p. that he'll sell me for cheap. Will the force lower unit fit my Mariner?

Like Jeff said sorry but no.You need a lower unit from a 1977 thru 1991 40/45/50 4 cylinder. Be careful as the 3 cylinder units look nearly identical but are a different gear ratio.
