Which wiring harness do I need?

One for the techs..... I've just picked up a Honda digital speedo that I'd like to use with my 2006/7 BF225. - which wiring harness do I need to connect this to the engine?

(Hoping it's a 06326-zy3-801)

I never got round to fitting a cable to run this [basically because they were so expensive] but I now have potential for finishing the job 🙃

So, just to confirm, I need a 32540-zy3-802 cable to connect this meter to my [non-NMAE2K] 2007 BF225?

Also, does it it connect directly to the engine somewhere or further up the main wiring loom?

(and yes, I'm hoping to replace the scratched/cracked perspex!)
 
What controls do you have. All you do is plug in the 6 pin connector ( green) and then connect all the bullet connectors into the matching gauge harness connectors
 
I can't fully recall, it's years since I fitted these. Can you first tell me what controls you have? Is it a binnacle mount with a seperate key panel or a side mount all in one control box? Give me this information then I can help you further
 
Given that I just would like fuel consumption data I think it may be easier to just fit a NMEA2k fuel flow sensor and plug that into the 'new MFD' I want to buy!!

Hmmm .... maybe I should be persevering then!

I might be overthinking this but if I only have one engine and all I'm really after is fuel consumption data all I need to do is plug the brown 6 pin plug from the gauge into the [32540-zy3-802] harness and then match up the bullet connectors coming out of the main harness [which should be somewhere by the controls/key switch (I have a 4 light system but the key and oil pressure and temp are separate from the other two lights)

Okay, so the check eng light and battery are plugged in with a 3 pin connector, just follow the wire from the light panel. Right next to the three pin is a green 6 pin in the same harness from the engine. That has to plug into the 6 pin female plug on the new digital gauge harness. That will give you your fuel useage that you're after
 
Well I was getting all excited for a second!!

Unfortunately there's no sign of a green 6 pin plug 🙁

I traced the wiring from the 3-pin socket back and there is a spare, white, 6 pin plug but it's male and I'm looking for a female plug 😫

The wiring was in a massive mess when I got the boat and I've tidied it up but I that's the only spare plug available.

Is there a chance that the harness used on my boat doesn't have the connectors for the digital gauges or is there only one main harness?
If there's only one then I need to do more digging to find the green pin plug in the console.

And if I find it I plug the [32540-zy3-802] digital harness into it and the other end into the gauge?
 
Your boat being older may have 2 harnesses, the main one and then a thin 6 wired with the 3 and 6 pin plugs, they later integrated the two into one. I imagine yours is separate. And to answer your question, all the efi harnesses are compatible with digital gauges, you just to find it . Like I said before, if you follow the wires from your check engine light panel you will find it.
 
OK.... so it must be there as the there's obvs the harness for the check engine light!

Here's another stupid question:
Is there supposed to be just one 6 pin male plug on the harness from the engine or two (one for the digital tach and one for the digital Speedo)?
I assumed two but looking at this photo from my shop manual it looks like there may be just one which I guess then splits within the digital harness:

In which case maybe it's this one that I found [initially] that does come out near the 3 pin plug (but isn't green!):
