What's the value ?

I have a 1988 Johnson 150 all original. Always maintained still runs good. Under the cowling it looks great. No corrosion etc. what would be a realistic price to ask ? This would be a great candidate for a rebuild down the line. It will need new rings and pistons down the line. Compression is not very good. It still idles great and wot is still over 40. I am looking to repower and if possible find a buyer that can road test the motor before it's removed. Any idea where to start on a price?

Good strong motors. Low amp charging system. 1,500 is a good starting point. MHO

Crossflow motors that need rebuilt don't have much value especially V6 motors. In my area they bring $800-1500 running and if you look hard enough you can get a whole outfit for about the same $$$$
