Picked up this Honda 15hp F154A. No water out of pee hole. Changed impeller, no fins left. Pulled all the housings off the lower end. Should there not be a seal of some kind where the water tube enters the bottom entering the motor. I did remove the seal around the black extruding pipe.

Yes, there's supposed to be a grommet in the engine base that the top of the water tube pushes into.

If that grommet gets worn down or is missing, the tube can damage the entrance to the cooling system so that the grommet won't stay in place. Vibration is a bee-ahtch.

I have used epoxy to reshape that area on a couple old A models so it's not a lost cause if your's is like that.

I couldn't find a "F154A" designation to show you but I think they're all the same from pre-1997 right up to 2001 or 2002. See item 27 in the link.


I know 27 doesn't look like it's in the right place in that picture and it's been a looooong time since I ordered one, but I'm pretty certain that's what you're looking for.
