I need to get a water seperator for our honda 90hp.
Is one brand out there better than the other?
Does it matter?
Whats close to us- yamaha, merc, evinrude.

Are you talking about the "on engine" fuel/water separator or an external one that fits between your tank and the pump-up bulb?

If external, Racor is the way to go. Get the Racor 10 micron filter that has the clear view chamber on the bottom, and allows you screw open a drain plug on the bottom to drain out the water and gunk. Be sure to mount it high enough on the inside transom so you can get a drain pan or small jar under it.

Honda has one that is small and runs a 30 gallon per hour flow which would more than enough for your engine. It uses Honda/Racor (says so on the filter and filter unit) Part# 17670-ZW1-030GH. This is the one I am using on my 225 Honda and works great and is in the motor well. I feed the main and a Yamaha T9.9 engine with it. I have a shut off switch for the Yamaha, but very seldom shut it off, both motors will run at the same time w/o any problems.:)

GSS036 - Good to know that, and thanks for the part number. I see that one also has the drain screw on the bottom so you can easily drain it like the standard Racor's.
