Water inlet screen

Have a8hp 4stroke, in the manual it points to a water inlet screen but where it should be I have a hard plug. Just got this motor, owner said it pees fine, where is this inlet screen located? Thanks Steve

Is the exhaust and water useing the same slot?

Ok igmo I see the screen and understand it’s behind the round plug,,, but. Is the exhaust and water sharing the same slot-hole?

This motor does not have hub through exhaust

I honestly don't know the answer to that question. I have never worked on that model.

But, my opinion is that it doesn't make any sense (to me anyway) for the exhaust to be connected to incoming cooling water.
