Hi bickle,

Sorry you're having troubles.

I don't work on these but I found a post that could give you some ideas.

A little way down he also gives another link to a post that is a long read (3 pages) but has lots of discussion about water intrusion on BF200 and 225 Hondas. You might get something from that as it contains posts from people on this site that seem to know the most about these engines.

I know there are other posts about this subject concerning the V6 outboards but I'm not well versed at using the search engine and I'm going by memory as to what to type into the search box. Maybe, if you are good at such things, you might have better luck than I did.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help. Do you know how I could pressure test the cooling system with air possibly?

Well, I don't know. But it would likely involve blocking off the exhaust manifold coolant exits.
Sorry, I have never tried doing anything like that.

Block all entrances and exits- water enters in the lower end and exits through the exhaust and the telltale as far as I know. If you can block the exhaust and intakes, you could use the telltale to pump air in. You’d only want 2 or 3 lbs. Or pump water in? See where water comes out easier than hearing air?

Not sure how easy this is to do. I’ve pressure tested my boat 63 gallon fuel tank to see if it held pressure, they recommended 3-4 lbs.
