Warning Module Mercury 150 EFI XR1

OK we have a Mercury 150 EFI XR1 1995. It has warning module part number 41470A25. There is a green wire coming from the module to a light green wire (harness) It is connected to the #2 cylinder. I keep getting an intermittent beep (alarm) I think it is somehow related to the knock sensor. What I want to know is can I just leave this unplugged. Thanks in advance
