Vintage outboard stand

Hi guys, I’ll start by stating I do not own a Honda outboard anymore.
I have a collection of vintage honda bikes and generally very fond of the brand. I picked up this outboard stand today. Condition is alright with some rust and flaking where it would have contact with (probably salt) water. I cannot find any info online and am wondering if any Honda marine guys might recognize this and offer any context.
Thanks kindly
D

Hi,

Nice collectable! Honda might pay a pretty penny for that to adorn their museum. That is, if they've got one. I don't know:)

That looks like it might have been a showroom display stand for an early twin model.

There's a YouTube video about a 1971 B75 K1 model (universally disliked by mechanics at the time I hear) that the guy says "original paint" on the engine cover that matches your stand's paint scheme pretty dang close.

As an aside, the outboard was hung on an aluminum transom and ran very nicely as he demonstrated it's performance.

I tried to post a link to it but couldn't figure out how. It's not hard to find though with a little "googling".

That's it... and it ain't much... but it's all I got.

Nice find and thanks for sharing.

To post a link, click on the little icon that looks like two chain links, (it’s at immediate left ofthe “picture frame”).
That opens a small window where you paste the URL of the website.
Voila,

Hey, thanks for the info. Still haven’t found any reference for the stand. The transom is solid oak and nice condition which would explain it being a display stand.
