Verifying year by serial number

I believe I have a 1978 Mercery 1150. But just want to be sure as I need a "trigger" for it.

the serial number is 4846911. Thanks for any help. If anyone has a trigger or knows the best place to get one that would be great to. I'm in Portland Maine area

That's a 1977 model number.

Believe these models had a distributor, not a trigger. Using the correct term for the part you need will go a long way to trying to find it.

If it's actually the rotor that you are after, good luck - you may just have a couple hundred pounds of paperweight there.

The word trigger is the term the mechanic used when he traced the problem. I certainly hope your wrong about it being a paperweight. Because I just spent $2700 on this boat and bought it a month ago. Thanks for your reply.

CDI makes a replacement rotor shaft and has for a couple of years so dont fret....the trigger can be also purchase on this site or on Amazon.

I found a guy 50 miles from me that has 4 used ones for $75 a peice. So I guess that my next move. Thanks.

Hello everybody,

i want to find the year of my boat . Motor is Mercury Mariner Power Europa Outboard. Serial number is : 9302049. Made in Belgium. And there is another number : B4822 verviers. Please help mi to find more information about this engineer. Also it is written Mercury Golden Series. I hope is not difficult task for you.
