I really thought my hub was slipping due to higher rpm’s when throttling. Took it to prop shop and had new hub installed but took the boat out today and I am still experiencing higher rpms and I think lower mph.
I probably never needed a new hub after all Can anyone tell me if bottom growth would cause higher rpms? I haven’t used the boat for about two weeks and I noticed some growth on the sides and transom. I imagine it would slow the boat down some but would the rpms increase? This boat is new to me but I would normally be able to stay on plane at around 4000rpms but now i need to be at almost 5000 to stay on plane. The old owner told me that at WOT the boat was at about 6500 rpms. I had it at 7000 at WOT since the issue.
