My boat has about 5000 Hours on it. If I were to spend $2500 on a remanufactured engine, would the value of my boat increase? If so, would it increase to more than +$2500?

You would probably lose money on the situation. Does the engine run now? If so, why replace. Chances are what ever you think the newer engine would cost, will be more, and you'll be throwing good money after bad. Sometimes better to cut bait if you know what I mean.

I disagree in some respects. If the boat is otherwise in very good condition and it is a make and model that is popular and highly respected (e.g. Carolina Classic, Parker, Bertram, Whaler [among fishermen]), then if it has recently been re-engined with a new or properly rebuilt engine, yes, you will likely get your money out of it. Over 50 years, I have own about 15 boats. Never bought a new one.
