I have an 89 Sea Nymph w/a 70 hp Johnson on it. I retrieved it from storage yesterday and was running the engines and making adjustments. While adjusting the idle speed, I noticed that the tach was dead solid on 1300 rpm with no movement whatsoever. Shut it down, tried to restart and nothing. No power to anything--tilt/trim, gauges, starter, nothing. It has a dual battery system with a dial switch so you can run battery 1, 2, both or none. It's like the switch has failed or is stuck on none because there's no power anywhere no matter what position is chosen. Both batteries were just installed with full charges. Not familiar with how to test and troubleshoot--any suggestion? Maybe someone experienced something similar? It has a 9.9 kicker that's wired straight to battery 2, and it starts and runs as it should. Is there some kind of circuit protection for these switches that can need replaced? Or maybe not the switch at all--a main fuse? fusible link? If more info is needed, let me know and I'll try and help.Never had any problems with this boat-going on my 3rd year with it.
