"I own a 2002 Glaston with a V
"I own a 2002 Glaston with a Volvo Penta 5.0GL-B. Last year the boat run great, but idle to high around 1100rpms. This Spring I checked the timing and I saw a V wedge with white paint in the middle of the V wedge and noticed the mark was advanced from the center of the V wedge. I set the timing so the mark was in the middle of the V wedge and the idle went down to 600 rpms which is where it should be. I also changed spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. When I took the boat out and pushed it to WOT the motored back fired and had very little power. When I slowly pushed the throttle to WOT it would only run around 3700 rpms. It should be 4400-4800 rpms. Also, I had about 10-15 gallons of old fuel, but added 15 gallons of new fuel before I went out. I have not siphoned the fuel out because I think this may be some type of timing issue. Any ideas?
Thanks"
