Throttle clips

I have a Honda outboard 9.9 electric start. I have an issue with the throttle cable clipping to the throttle armature on the engine, with those stainless steel clips that keep falling off. Has anybody come up with an answer for that

Hi,

What year?

Tiller or remote throttle/shift?

Do you have an explanatory picture that you could post of these clips?

I have never heard of a "throttle armature". Could you describe that in detail or post a photo of that too?

Sorry about all the questions but I'm just trying to see if I can help you figure it out.

I think I said it was remote control. The end of the cable attached to a throttle armature on the side of the engine and the cable pushes it forward or backwards to accelerate or slow down. The cable has a brass screw on elbow that has a shaft at 90 degrees. That goes into a hole at the end of the armature. A "U" shaped stainless steel clip goes over the top of the armature and supposedly locks the end of the cable (brass elbow) onto the armature. But The u-shaped stainless steel clip is constantly slipping off, that's my issue. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you're probably not familiar with Honda 9.9 engines
