I am looking for the right thermostat that fits into housing #318398for an Evebrude out board

Model # of your motor ?-----Seems to be available new from a dealer for the 73 to 77 models.----Your location ?

i can not find the plate that tells me the model # any where on the motor. I live near the twin cities

The item you are looking for is available new.----Post a picture of your motor if paint decals are original.

If cowl is original its a 1975 and use a cooling system like in pic..

Item 48 is the vernatherm.---But there may be more parts missing in this case.------Run to a boat shop and pick one up or order one.-----Easy as can be.-----If this motor is " new to you " do a compression test for future refrence.----Post the actual values here.-----These motors are known to have issues with broken piston rings.

And it is a pita to work on that. I still haven't figured out a way to avoid pulling the power head or cutting my case. They come out fine but going back in is an OMFG situation. 77 Johnson 85.
