I have a 2004 evinrude 225 direct injection with 250 upgrade. No alarms or codes. New plugs, wires,etc. Motor runs great except after scanning in idle or idling waiting to blast off. Motor seems to be loading up and will stall upon takeoff. Sometimes after ive plained off. Can pump bulb and cranks up after couple turns of the key and does fine. I hav e tried raising jackplate during idle and has helped. Happens most often if i am giving it gas just above an idle speed.

What did they/you do to upgrade as its more than fuel map.

my mechanic at randys marine in Camden tn hooked it to his computer to pull up history, diagnosics,etc. where it identified program on the motor it said 250, and a couple letters that I cant remember off top of my head. when I 1st got it he questioned it having a 28 prop on a 225. so that's it. if knowing the letters that follow 250 will help wont be problem to get them.

Need to have the fuel lift pump checked

that's at I was afraid you were going to say. correct me if I'm wrong but that pump isn't rebuildable is it. thanks for the info though
