I have a 2012 90hp fourstroke the manual says i need to have a mechanic to replace the high preasure fuel filter because it requires special tools. Can I do this myself and if so how.

What brand of 90?

All Honda four-strokes that I am familiar with make it fairly easy for the owner to change the HP fuel filter. On my 225 it takes a 10 mm wrench and removing three bolts. Furthermore, a very significant percentage of performance problems with a four stroke outboard can be traced to the HP fuel filter or VST.

My four stroke is a mercury the high preasure filter is an inline type and is the same as the low pressure filter. The high preasuure side has a schrader valve located on the top of the moter to bleed the preasure off the line.
