replace pistion in merc 175 hp

Found a merc 175 HP ser #0b349816 for sale owner says one piston only has 60 psi. He took the head off and found the cylinder wall to be "gaulded" Does a replacement cylinder have a sleeve or would the cylinder need bored out to the size of the piston. Can a person replace just the one piston or would that make the engine out of balance. Also I have a merc200 black max Would the lover unit off of the 175 fit on the 200. the replacement new unit shows the same part number for both engines

It has to come apart. The bore might survive with a good hone job.

if not, do they make a new cylinder - sleeve and piston. also any adivise on the lower unit? Thanks.

Depending on if its a 2 or 2.4L it can be bored up to .040 oversize easy without replacing sleeve. If its the chrome bore 175 2.4L will will have to be sleeved to repair,
