Reman Powerhead running poor

I just got a remanufactured Powerhead for my 97 evinrude 115. It ran good for about 20 hours, but now everytime I try to give it gas it dies until I prime it constantly til I get up on plane.. Only could do that cause I had my friend with me to do it. Anyway I take it to the shop and he says two of the 4 cylinders are running really low until you give it a lot of gas and then they run normal, the other two are really strong, and he said they found a bad coil, can this cause my engine to do this? Or am I looking for more then just a coil? They just rebuilt the carbs, put a new pump and fuel lines in it might I add.

Also I am just graduated from hs last year so still learning as I go.. He did a test with the coil and I saw a stream of blew sparks coming from the coil and he said it wasn't supposed to do that.. I thought it was? Not sure if he meant the readings or what. And I keep having a small amount of oil/gas seeping into the airbox and he said that's normal. Which is a load of crap to me cause I'm sure I'm not supposed to see it at the lower engine cover, nor am I supposed to smell gas from the engine everytime I'm done boating. Any thoughts? JustFYI a lot of the times when I give it a lot of throttle it gets up on plane and doesn't kill, and when I slow down and get to my fishing spot and idle after being on plane it doesn't die then either? Sound like a coil issue or something else?

You need to find a different shop as there is some bovine scatology being thrown at ya...if you pumping bulb to get it go its a fuel pump/carb issue.

I have a personal friend of my dad who is a shade tree mechanic, but my dad says the people he's helped with their boats have always been happy, he's coming out next week to see what it is,. Theirs oil/gas coming out of the mouth of the carbs, specifically the bottom ones and creating a mess in my airbox. It's soaked with gas, and then Theres gas running along the new hoses, and falling in the lower engine cover and covering it with gas. The fuel pump is new, along with rebuild carb kits for all, and it's just started doing this after 12-15 hours of running total. I thought carbs got clogged or flooded because they say double oil for the first 40 gallons to break in the Powerhead, well was at 36 gallons and got low so I doubled oil for another 12 gallons.. And it's only gotten worse after I had about 6 gallons of gas left from that fill up
